Dr House, médecin de raison... et de fiction
De temps en temps, on découvre une série télé qui nous étonne. Cette année, c'est House. Je sais. La série existait l'an dernier mais n'était pas apparue dans mon radar.
Je jubile à chaque épisode, probablement pour les mêmes raisons que tout le monde: il est bête, a toujours raison et a toujours la réplique juste et cinglante. Il ne souffre pas de l'esprit d'escalier. Pas du tout. J'imagine qu'avoir une équipe de scripteurs, ça donne un petit coup de main.
Un commentaire de l'acteur principal, Hugh Laurie, m'a révélé une autre facette de ma fascination pour ce personnage : c'est un être de raison, un sceptique.
Laurie says his character reasons against emotion, and “in this touchy, feely age, reason is not a popular thing. Facts are not popular things. Logic is not a popular thing. Warmth and emotion and sympathy are very popular things...
“I think it puts an interesting question to the audience: Would you rather have an unkind person who is right, or a kind person who is wrong?”
